Reporting to the Head of P&O for DK, you will be both a strategic and tactical expert in the areas of Benefits, Compensation and Operations. You will work as a functional leader, a project manager, a collaborative partner, and a team member with the purpose of bringing operational excellence and thoughtful people programs that align with our One Team culture.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for leading and driving our total rewards and operations strategy with an innovative approach and a continuous improvement mindset. You will be the total rewards expert on competitive best practices, and you will be responsible for designing and developing total rewards programs and practices for the DK business while partnering with a global counterpart in the US to ensure programs and practices align with the company’s Global Total Rewards philosophy. This includes developing our approach to base salary-, short- and long-term incentives, executive compensation and benefits. In addition to designing, managing, and administering all aspects of our total rewards strategy, you will also be responsible for advancing the P&O team’s operational effectiveness by developing systems, processes, and procedures to support the Zealand People and Organization strategy.
Job Profile
Responsibilities include:
- Lead, manage, and administer the compensation and benefits function to ensure programs such as broad-based compensation, equity, bonus programs and recognition benefits are competitive, valued and aligned with Zealand’s business strategy and financial plans.
- Identify and propose modifications and enhancements to our total reward programs to address our employees’ changing needs and the competitive environment for talent in our industry.
- Develop offers that are competitive and equitable. Provide guidance on total compensation and equity.
- Manage job leveling, salary surveys, and market analysis in order to make comprehensive recommendations. Understand current and emerging market trends to identify potential opportunities and gaps.
- Support the VP of People and Organization on executive compensation analyses and preparation of materials for the Global executive teams.
- Develop and deliver communication that helps our employees appreciate and value their total compensation package benefits, base, bonus, equity, time off, etc.; create total rewards statements and materials.
- Manage our employee share program
- Remain current on industry trends, best practices, compliance, new/progressive processes, etc., that enable Zealand to achieve organizational excellence
Candidate Profile
You are driven and ambitious with strong results throughout your career. You are a strong communicator who executes independent decision-making and can explain and build engagement, as well as create strong relations. You know how to build and scale through principles, policies, and structures and at the same time, you have the business acumen to cater for local differences and business criticality when needed. Thinking strategically comes naturally to you, and you know how to implement new structures and ways of thinking in negotiation with various stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have most or all the below qualifications:
- A degree within economics, business management, finance, HR or similar.
- A minimum of 5 years of diverse experience and progressive responsibility in compensation and benefits. Preferable in a compensation partner role or as a consultant
- Demonstrated ability to successfully execute in an environment with limited infrastructure. Ability to handle shifting priorities and multitasking in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Possess both strategic capabilities with a “roll up your sleeves approach.” This is a position in a small, growing company requiring hands-on execution.
- Strong project management and prioritization skills to effectively manage and drive multiple projects and initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong technical proficiency with HR systems and MS Office tools, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
- Understanding of and experience with equity plans and different types of equity vehicles for publicly traded companies.
- Flexible and creative, comfortable with ambiguity, organized and detail oriented.
- Clear communicator with the ability to bridge a big picture vision and tactical plans
- Analytically driven, demonstrating strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- It is an advantage if you have experience within employee share programs and Global Shares
